30 HR Famine

sorry it's been so long since i last posted...

the last couple weeks have been absolutely crazy. i hope to get back up and posting regularly again though.

anyways, this past weekend we had our 30 Hour Famine event...it's always our biggest event and so much work and planning goes in to the weekend.

our theme this year was Slavery with our slogan being "Set Me Free"
as our focus, we looked at child soldiers, the child sex industry, and sweat shops
the weekend consisted of a game focusing on poverty Friday night, service projects all over Atlanta Saturday morning, a scavenger hunt type activity Saturday afternoon where team members played the roles of children being sold in to slavery of different types, and a 2 hour long prayer walk consisting of 14 stations.

it was a huge eye-opening experience for students and adults as we went without, prayed for others, and served our community and local city

here are some shots i took prior to the event...i realized through this process that i hate waiting to put up shots, but i'm glad that i did so that kids could see them at the event first
