we had a great weekend up at Global Retreat Center in north Georgia for SHIFT Winter Retreat '09
there were about 125 middle schoolers running around crazy getting muddy and running through the woods

Joey Hill, out of B-Ham, came in and spoke some amazing truth in to the students lives

we also had the privilege of our good friend Brett Younker bringing along his band to lead us in worship
all that together created for an amazing weekend

first up: junior high basketball days



next: senior year of high school soccer
i miss those days

not motivated to shoot for fun very much anymore....could be that i have a lot of other stuff going on between church, younglife, and moving in to a new place

i have had more fun i think waiting for those shoots with clients though and thinking more creatively and what i can do next...i wonder if that will continue to happen the more i get in to this.....that is, spending less time just shooting for the fun of it

Jenica and i found a new park today...

finally we had some time to just chill, walk, laugh, and enjoy each other
it was so relaxing since we both feel as though are lives are going at 200mph

beautiful sunset, new park, time with the wife...it was a good afternoon

Copper and Magen Nelms

these kids have been married for close to 3 years (just like Jenica and I) and wanted to get some pics taken together

I am shooting the wedding for Magen's sister, Dawn, in May which I am looking forward to

despite windy and chilly temps, which apparently decide to show up lately whenever I have a shoot, we had a good time exploring through historic Covington

new locations are always fun...

this is jon simpson

he came in for a little bit during my shoot with Carl Dylan whom i posted a few days ago

anyways, he needed one last shot to incorporate his theme for his upcoming album and i think we got it

Kurt Scobie

here is a guy who has some serious piano talent...
it was so nice that the weather decided to warm up to a comfortable 30 degrees...
so much better than 15 or whatever ridiculousness it was the other day

anywho, great conditions to shoot and Kurt led me to a wonderful spot i never even knew existed

enjoy!

we had our second photo day for the high school youth group...it was a little cold though

it's cool to see some of the kids getting in to it...they are all really good too
i wish that i would have known the stuff that they already do when i was their age

this is the Eriksson family...

they are friends of the Spears who I took photos of a few months ago
their daughters are precious and have the biggest blue eyes

it was interesting keeping up with their oldest, brooke, as she tore around the yard in her barbie jeep with their dog hanging on to the tires with his teeth

went flying this morning with Captain Jeff...

he rocks it out on the guitar for the Epicenter service at Sugarloaf
I LOVE airplanes and it was so awesome to go up in such a small plane

can't wait to do this again sometime.
